Fire Alarm Systems

Fire alarm systems require regular maintenance all dependant on the type of system. Grade A fire alarm systems which is typically installed throughout large apartment complexes are usually serviced every 6 months so that over the course of a year 100% of the fire alarm devices in the building are tested. Whereas Grade D fire alarm systems are usually serviced once a year, these are usually used in less complex and smaller situations where they are installed in high risk and high traffic areas like Hallways and Kitchens.

Commercial fire alarm systems must be tested weekly according to BS 5839-1:2025. This involves testing different manual call points each week to ensure that the system is able to function as it should and be able to identify any failures and act on them.
